After breakfast you will be taken on a tour within the greenest city in Africa. Some of the highlights include a visit to the Kasubi Tombs, a special burial place for the Buganda Kings, the Namugongo Shrines, Bahia Temple and African Craft Village - the best place to buy African art, carvings and other handcrafts of your desire. Overnight at Kings Holiday Inn.

Day 3: KAMPALA - FORT PORTAL

Early breakfast and then transfer to Fort Portal, with traditional homesteads and farms along the way. Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the large tea plantations. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse.

Day 4: MOUNTAINS OF THE MOON

Today you can enjoy the majestic Rwenzori Mountains in its full glory. Enjoy a guided nature walk at the foothills and learn about the local culture firsthand. Enjoy the scenic views, have a glimpse of the village life and visit a traditional witchdoctor at his home. We will also make a stop at the Amabere Caves, where you can discover the small hidden waterfall and admire the stalagmites and stalactites.
After this impressive day a cultural evening is awaiting you with traditional dances and songs from different tribes (only on Sundays!). Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse.

Day 5: CRATER LAKES

Today we will explore the region of the Crater Lakes. Enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills. Take a hike at Lake Nkuruba to encounter different species of primates and birds, and visit the Mahoma Falls. Meet the local people as you walk through their villages, learn about the customs of the Batoroo tribe and enjoy the panoramic views. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse.

Day 6: FORT PORTAL - NSHENYI VILLAGE

Departure for Mbarara where you will have lunch before continuing to Nshenyi Village. A beautiful route will take you to this hidden, rural farm, where you can experience the traditional way of living. Enjoy the rolling countryside of the Ankole Kingdom and listen to the silence. Dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village.

Day 7: NSHENYI VILLAGE

The morning starts early as you go to the field to milk the long horned Ankole cows. Return to the farm for breakfast, before we take a short walk to the village of a Bahima tribe. Experience the lifestyle of this traditional tribe and learn more about where they live, what they eat and their other native habits. In the afternoon you may want to decide to go for a nature walk along the River Kagera, the natural border with Tanzania. The trail leads through undulating hills that overlook Nshenyi Village. Watch the unparalleled richness of bird species as you look right into Tanzania. In the evening you can enjoy traditional dancing and singing of a non-professional local group. Dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village.

Day 8: NSHENYI VILLAGE

Another day of relaxing in the raw comforts of nature! You may join the pastors and spend some time in the field while grazing the cows. Or enjoy the process of turning milk into ghee while sitting within an enchanting traditional hut. You may also choose to visit a local school, have another nature walk or spend a day on an open market and see how Wall Street comes to life in rural Africa! Dinner and overnight at Nshenyi Village.
